Fundamental knowledge from our innovation partners

As a high-tech developer of unmanned systems in the east of the Netherlands, you get a lot of freedom to realize your ambitions. The mature ecosystem offers ambitious businesses and researchers the knowledge, capital and infrastructure they need to develop their innovations. Launching customers, such as the Province of Overijssel, Safety Region Twente and the Municipality of Enschede – the drone capital of the EU – are willing to help test these innovations and explore the market.

With the University of Twente, Fraunhofer Institute, Saxion, ROC, AOC and Drone Flight Academy, joint research and education programs are being developed. These range from programs to become a drone operator, an agrarian “drone worker” and a drone maintenance technician, the development of modules consisting of mechatronics and artificial intelligence for use in unmanned vehicles and their operating systems to the development of the fundamental knowledge behind new materials and concepts.

The knowledge institutions work together closely on this. Space53 also frequently organizes events and activities during which attendees are informed about the latest developments in the sector and they are inspired to come up with their own plans related to the application of unmanned systems.
